Eastside Church of God
Youth Leader

Each Sunday and Wednesday nights, for the past 2 years, I have been leading a small group of what began as 7th grade girls, but they are now in the 8th grade and making the scary transition to high school. I facilitate group activities and studies for the girls to be involved in. The investment of being involved in such a group can sometimes leave me stretched for time, but I have truly enjoyed joining them as they discover who they are, their strengths an much as their weaknesses, and who they will one day become.

Eastside Church of God
Special Needs Aid

Kids with Heart- This program places an aid with each child who has additional needs for one reason or another. I was lucky to be placed with 2 students that were in the 2nd grade. I have moved with these two students as they transitioned to new classrooms (They are now in 4th grade). With the resources available, this program supports these students by allowing them to participate in the same Sunday school classes as their non-disabled peers. I assist a young girl with Cerebral Palsy, and a young boy who has Autism, by prompting them to socialize with other children, offering sensory input, and adapting their environment to allow them to succeed.
